TESSERE partnered with Humboldt School District to help bring the community’s vision for its schools to life. Serving 591 students and supported by 95 employees across eight facilities, the district sought a thoughtful plan to address aging infrastructure, accommodate enrollment growth, and support its long-term educational goals.
The bond program included the expansion and enhancement of the district’s elementary school. TESSERE designed three new classrooms, a flexible Pre-K/Kindergarten learning environment with direct access to a secure outdoor courtyard and a dedicated cafeteria which eliminated the need for students to share space with the gymnasium. In addition, the expansion created an interior connection between the gymnasium and storm shelter, improving circulation, convenience, and overall building functionality.
Facility upgrades included HVAC system replacements, new vestibule entrances, updated signage, and renovated kitchen flooring. Together, these improvements create a more efficient and welcoming environment for students and staff while supporting the district’s commitment to educational excellence.
