The physician‑owned Kansas Medical Center sought an architectural partner with deep hospital expertise who could understand the needs of caregivers and patients while integrating state‑of‑the‑art medical technology. Through collaboration, TESSERE delivered a facility that combines advanced clinical functionality with a striking architectural presence.

TESSERE planned and designed the 81,313‑square‑foot medical center, which offers acute care, cardiac care, radiology, nuclear medicine, intensive care, and a full range of additional healthcare services. The $22.5 million facility includes three operating suites, three special procedure rooms, ten pre‑op/recovery beds, an emergency department, two cath labs, a pharmacy, 48 patient beds, 14 ICU beds, and comprehensive support spaces. A full‑service restaurant supports both patient nutrition and public dining.

To enhance efficiency, all core clinical departments were strategically placed in close proximity, streamlining workflows and improving staff coordination. Equally important, the design team prioritized the patient experience, creating an environment that promotes comfort, dignity, and healing throughout the facility.
