The Freestanding Ambulatory Surgery Center for Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas, consisted of a new 13,774‑square‑foot standalone surgical facility. The center includes six operating rooms, 15 pre‑operative and post‑operative bays, and on‑site sterile processing space.

TESSERE also provided full planning and design services for the original 90,000‑square‑foot Kansas Medical Center, which offers acute care, cardiac care, radiology, nuclear medicine, intensive care, and a wide range of additional services. The $22.5 million facility features 58 patient beds, ten ICU beds, three operating suites, three special procedure rooms, ten pre‑op/recovery beds, an emergency department, two cath labs, six OR suites, a pharmacy, and a restaurant serving both patient nutrition needs and public dining.

The Kansas Medical Center has been consistently recognized for its excellence. It received the HealthGrades “Outstanding Patient Experience Award” from 2009 through 2014, placing it among the top five percent of hospitals nationwide based on patient satisfaction. The facility has also attracted positive attention from medical groups throughout the region and was ranked among Truven Health Analytics’ 100 Top Hospitals in 2016.
