TESSERE is currently providing services for a new 22,000-square-foot facility to house the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR)’s new Crash Dynamics Laboratory. A key component of the design is focusing on creating a stable and spacious area for NIAR’s new testing equipment—the Dynamic Sled System.
Located on Wichita State University’s Innovation Campus, this testing facility will allow NIAR to meet new industry standards and expand research capacities to reach its global client base. Preview the progress from this project below:
The steel is up!
The building space will include a new Dynamic Sled System and additional spaces for testing and client equipment to be housed and setup.
The sled bay
The sled bay will be filled with rebar to strengthen the concrete. A specific type of concrete is required to absorb the force from the impact the sled system has.
Check out the time lapse through the building stages here. Our Higher Education market sector is looking forward to sharing more updates once the lab is closer to completion.
