IN PROGRESS Kelce Business School

Kelce College of Business

Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS

The new Kelce College of Business will serve as a cornerstone of Pittsburg State University’s Gorilla Rising initiative, a transformative effort to expand the Educational Enterprise District and strengthen connections between the main campus and downtown Pittsburg. Building on the momentum of Block 22, the 54,500‑square‑foot facility will bring the Kelce College of Business to the heart of the city, creating a dynamic living‑learning environment that fosters collaboration between students, faculty, industry partners, and the community.

Designed to support active learning and hands‑on instruction, the building will feature flexible spaces that enable expanded academic programming and strengthen corporate and community partnerships. Its central downtown location enhances engagement with local manufacturers, businesses, and civic leaders while helping prepare the next generation of business innovators.

The site design includes demolition of three existing buildings, the addition of 43,000-square-feet of new parking and landscaping, and the creation of a welcoming entry plaza with outdoor seating. Civil engineering efforts emphasize connectivity, linking downtown destinations, outdoor gathering spaces, and nearby businesses into a cohesive, accessible district. Funded through a combination of private philanthropy, City support, and ARPA Challenge Grant funds, the project is scheduled to open in Fall 2026.
