The interior and exterior renovation of the Winds Hotel transformed a former Western‑style property into a modern, inviting oasis. Located along Interstate 135 in Park City, Kansas, on land owned by the Wyandotte Nation, the hotel now serves both highway travelers and guests of the nearby Crosswinds Casino, offering the convenience of a 24‑hour shuttle service.
The three‑story, 40,000‑square‑foot hotel features 70 guest rooms and a full suite of amenities, including a conference center, fitness room, and a lounge that hosts a daily continental breakfast. All three floors underwent comprehensive renovations to address construction issues, bring the facility up to code, meet ADA requirements, and refresh every interior finish, furnishing, and fixture with modern, comfortable upgrades.
TESSERE collaborated with local furniture suppliers to specify custom guest room furniture and bathroom fixtures. Guest rooms now feature light, neutral walls accented with shades of blue, along with natural textures to create a warm, home‑like atmosphere. Bright lighting, charging stations, generous desk space, and upgraded closet features enhance the overall guest experience. New, comfortable furnishings were selected for the dining and lounge areas adjacent to the updated gym, conference center, and fully stocked pantry. All interior selections were coordinated with the redesigned lobby to ensure a cohesive and welcoming aesthetic throughout the hotel.
On the exterior, the former Wild West façade was replaced with a clean, contemporary palette of greys and whites, giving the building a fresh, modern presence. Parking areas were updated with improved lighting for safety, ADA‑compliant parking spaces, and new landscaping designed both to beautify the property and enhance wayfinding for guests arriving at any time of day or night.
