National Center for Aviation Training Expansion

Designed by TESSERE, the NCAT Expansion introduces a new training facility to WSU Tech’s flagship National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT) campus in Wichita, Kansas. The project supports workforce growth by addressing critical industry needs in emerging and advanced aviation, as well as advanced manufacturing and automation. The facility expands WSU Tech’s infrastructure, innovation capacity, and instructional reach to support both credit and non-credit programs for students and workforce trainees.

The 85,500-square-foot addition consists of a two-level training facility that includes laboratories, offices, classrooms, and an aircraft hangar dedicated to professional pilot training. Specialized lab spaces will support technical instruction in robotics, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), flight simulation, electrical and mechanical systems, and emerging aviation technologies. The facility connects directly to a new aircraft apron extension, with building orientation carefully planned to optimize flight operations and support future campus expansion.
