Training City and County Officers on Wichita State University Innovation Campus
The Law Enforcement Training Center serves the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Wichita Police Department, and the Criminal Justice Department at Wichita State University. Located on the WSU Innovation Campus, the 60,000‑square‑foot facility provides law enforcement training for new cadets and classrooms for the Criminal Justice Department.
The first floor houses tactical training and fitness rooms, emergency services backup and training spaces, crime‑scene incident rooms, and a quartermaster’s area for both the Wichita Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office. The second floor provides dedicated classrooms for law enforcement training. The third floor is home to the Criminal Justice Program, including classrooms for the Regional Community Policing Institute and the Midwest Criminal Justice Institute.
This state‑of‑the‑art facility brings professional training and academic learning together in one location, strengthening collaboration between local law enforcement and Wichita State University.
