Dodge City, KS

Projects included in the extensive scope of work were, but not limited to, classrooms, gymnasiums, a vocational/technology center, concession areas, locker rooms (designed as storm shelters), cafeterias, a 2,400-seat field house, indoor practice facilities and an 850-seat performing arts auditorium.

Project Details

Following the successful completion of the bond projects for USD 443, TESSERE was requested to design a new 54,000-square-foot administration facility for the District. The program for this was years in the making and included coordination with the both the City of Dodge City and the Kansas Air National Guard as an adjacent neighbor. This facility was planned as both a community center and new administration offices for the District. The new building was designed to adjoin with the existing Dodge City Civic Center, a 1950s-era auditorium and landmark in the community. This location was strategically planned to ensure the new facility could help accommodate a wide range of District and community events held at the Civic Center, including regional conventions.
