This 7,000-square-foot facility supports maintenance operations and public safety services through a modern, efficient design. The project includes an office and maintenance building, salt bunker, fuel island, ADA-compliant parking, heavy vehicle storage, a barn, and dedicated slabs for brine tanks, spreader racks, and brine mixing equipment.
The facility accommodates nine maintenance crew members and serves as a satellite location for the Kansas Highway Patrol, featuring contemporary administrative spaces and a training and safety room. The maintenance area includes three double vehicle bays, one configured as a wash bay, along with material and parts storage.
Site improvements include detention areas, entrance with circulation roadways, and a storage yard. Brine tank infrastructure incorporates enhanced spill containment systems exceeding minimum requirements to reduce potential impact on neighboring properties. The project required close coordination with consultant engineers for nearby roadway widening and water line expansion, and design alternatives were evaluated to maintain budget alignment.
