Real-world Training
The WSU Tech Walser Automotive Service Lab renovation, executed by TESSERE, re-imagined approximately 12,000 SF of the existing “C” Building to deliver a cutting-edge educational environment for advanced vehicle maintenance. This transformation included converting garage and classroom zones into a purpose-built lab capable of servicing electric vehicles, hybrids, compressed natural gas systems and other emerging technologies. The project also expanded classroom floor-area, established a dedicated Kubota lab, and introduced climate-controlled spaces. All focused on delivering real-world training aligned with modern automotive industry needs.
In addition to its technical infrastructure, the renovation thoughtfully repurposed overhead doors, removed legacy paint-booths, and installed LED lighting throughout to enhance energy efficiency. ADA-compliant men’s and women’s restrooms were upgraded with new plumbing fixtures and stalls, and the lobby’s HVAC system was replaced to support comfort and air-quality goals. The result is a future-proof facility that empowers WSU Tech to prepare students for a dynamic automotive workforce while projecting TESSERE’s proficiency in driving strategic, mission-aligned educational design.
