Kansas Department of Transportation, Winfield Subarea Complex

TESSERE worked with the Winfield, Kansas Department of Transportation for the new construction of a 12,800-square-foot maintenance building. The facility is used as the headquarters for approximately 26 maintenance and construction crew members.

Project Details

The facility features 8,900 SF of conditioned waterproof truck storage bays that hold up to 8 vehicles, parts and tools. The rest of the facility serves as administrative office space for the crew and supervisor. That space houses a meeting room, restrooms, break room, storage, tool room, reception, lab, and lab storage. A mechanical mezzanine allows for space saving on the main floor.
Site improvements include parking, drive paving, lighting, and landscape. Ground was broken on the project in 2019, with completion in 2020. This project is one of three Subarea Complexes TESSERE constructed for KDOT.
