Shawnee Heights Fire Station 21

Shawnee Heights, KS

As part of the Shawnee Heights Fire District’s modernization plan, Station 21 is being replaced with a new 13,000‑square‑foot satellite fire station designed to improve response times and expand service coverage across the community.

Station 21 is intentionally planned as a streamlined, highly efficient facility tailored to is operational role. Designed to accommodate four firefighters per shift, the station includes living quarters with a kitchen that provide comfortable, functional spaces supporting daily operations and firefighter well-being. A dedicated fitness center further supports health and physical readiness.

The apparatus bay is designed to house up to five emergency vehicles, enabling rapid response and operational flexibility. While smaller in scale and without administrative or training spaces, Station 21 utilizes the same interior and exterior finish materials as the District’s new Station 27, reinforcing a cohesive visual and operational identity. The new Station 21 represents a strategic investment in public safety infrastructure, providing a modern, reliable facility that will support firefighters and enhance service delivery for years to come.
