After serving the community for over 40 years, the Shawnee Heights Fire District recognized the need to modernize its facilities to meet the demands of contemporary fire and emergency services. The currently under-construction Station 27 represents a major step forward, designed to support the District’s expanding operations with cutting-edge infrastructure and equipment.
This new facility features dedicated administrative offices that enhance internal communication, a specialized training room to support ongoing professional development, and a fully equipped fitness center to promote firefighter health and wellness. The living quarters have been thoughtfully designed to foster a balanced work-life environment, incorporating natural light, quiet spaces, and comfortable accommodations that support mental well-being.
To further protect personnel, Station 27 includes advanced decontamination areas that help mitigate exposure to hazardous materials encountered during emergency responses.
The second phase of the District’s modernization plan involves replacing the aging Station 21 with a new 13,000 SF satellite station. This addition will significantly improve response times and strengthen service coverage across the growing community.
