Kansas Department of Transportation, Iola Subarea Complex

The Iola Subarea Complex involved new construction to replace and expand the existing facility, increasing capacity from a two-vehicle bay building to a four-vehicle bay complex to more effectively serve Iola and the surrounding region. The upgraded facility includes four vehicle bays, a mezzanine level for HVAC and electrical access, a small concrete testing laboratory, two offices, a training room, and a crew room with kitchenette and storage.

A key feature of the project is the inclusion of a dedicated conference room designed to support both KDOT operations and community use, reinforcing the facility’s role as a local resource.
