Westport Ice House

The Mutual Ice Company Building, located in Kansas City, Missouri, was originally constructed in 1907. Because it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, we had a responsibility to maintain its historical integrity while giving it new life through careful modification. Now the Westport Ice House, the building will continue to hold its place in the historical Westport area for years to come.

Project Details

TESSERE designed the 6,200-square-foot remodel of the Westport Ice House, composed of limestone exterior walls and wood frame interior with heavy timber elements. New openings were made in the central limestone wall to connect the north and south portions of the building. We also assisted with preparation of historic preservation tax credit documentation.
