McCownGordon Headquarters

Located in the heart of downtown Wichita, Kansas, TESSERE designed McCownGordon’s 12,000‑square‑foot headquarters on the second floor of an existing building along 2nd Street. The relocation was driven by the company’s growth, as McCownGordon had outgrown its previous office and was operating across multiple subleased spaces.

The new headquarters consolidates staff into a cohesive, collaborative environment while celebrating the character of the original building. Abundant natural light, exposed brick, and visible structural beams were preserved and highlighted to create an authentic, engaging workplace. With a focus on adaptability and efficient use of existing conditions, TESSERE strategically incorporated much of the original layout while introducing new dividing walls to define a variety of work settings.

The redesigned space includes open office areas, private offices, conference rooms, training rooms, a break room and game room, and remodeled restrooms, creating a balanced environment that supports focused work, collaboration, and employee engagement.
