Cloud County Community College Technical & Innovation Center

Cloud County Technical Education and Innovation Center

Concordia, KS

Cloud County Community College Response to the Educational and Workforce Needs of Kansas.

As part of the master plan developed by TESSERE for Cloud County Community College (CCCC), this building was designed to consolidate several departments—previously spread across multiple facilities—into a single, centralized location. The goal was to use this and future developments to cultivate a more traditional college campus atmosphere. The Technical Education and Innovation Center is a direct response to the educational and workforce needs of Kansas.

The Center houses programs in nursing, renewable energy, agriculture, and industrial technologies. In addition to traditional classrooms, the facility includes a nursing skills classroom and simulation lab, a climb/drone training area, a composite blade lab, a solar energy lab, a hydraulics and mechanical training lab, an A-frame renewable energy training lab, and dedicated lab spaces for agriculture, industrial, and welding programs.

Designed with adaptability in mind, the Center strengthens partnerships between the college and private industry—particularly through its nursing and renewable energy programs. It supports not only CCCC students but also offers continuing education opportunities for staff at the adjacent Cloud County Health Center. Health Center professionals also contribute to the Center through mentorship and educational programming.

Serving as the “front door” to the campus, the Technical Education and Innovation Center welcomes new students, alumni, and community members. Its public-facing features—including gathering areas and multifunctional classrooms—serve as both community resources and showcases for CCCC’s broader academic offerings, supporting recruitment and retention efforts.
